We have grouped the artwork files into general themes. You can download a variety of file types to meet your needs. Use the tabs below to browse the materials available as artwork.


Files are provided in zipped jpeg or PDF format as appropriate. If you are unable to view the PDF files, please download Adobe Reader.  To open zipped jpeg files you will require WinZip. If you do not have this on your computer, you can download a trial version from the WinZip website.

 

The posters are designed with a consistent look across the NHS in England. They are designed to deliver the campaign’s key messages and are supported with best practice guidance and facts. They can be replaced on a regular basis or used together as preferred. The artwork for the posters is supplied in both pdf and zipped jpeg format.

Patient poster

This poster is aimed at patients and service users to make them feel that it is ‘OK to ask’ their healthcare staff about hand hygiene.

Participation poster

The participation poster aims to enable trusts to show their support for the campaign in areas where the core posters might not be appropriate. It is aimed at both staff and patients/service users to show that the trust views hand hygiene as a priority.

Champion poster

This poster can be used to help raise the profile of hand hygiene champions or recognised staff members. This item is double sided with an ‘I do’ version on one side, and the ‘we do’ on the other.

Staff leaflets

This pocket sized leaflet provides healthcare staff with information on how and when to clean their hands and includes helpful diagrams. It can be used as part of training or at events to promote hand hygiene among staff.

Patient leaflets

These leaflets can be displayed in waiting areas and provide information for patients and service users about the cleanyourhands campaign. They are available in English, bilingually in English and Welsh as well as in the ten most commonly spoken languages in England and Wales. The text for the English and Welsh versions can also be found with the patient materials.

 


Credit card flyers

These credit card flyers highlight the crucial times for staff hand hygiene as well as best practice for use of alcohol handrub and soap and water. They can be used as a training resource or at staff events, or can be used as a reminder for staff at a missed hand hygiene opportunity.  Versions have been created with images of patient/service user in a bed, chair, a stretcher and a child in a wheelchair.

Postcard flyers

These postcard sized flyers highlight the crucial times for staff hand hygiene. They can be used as a training resource or at staff events, or can be used as a reminder for staff at a missed hand hygiene opportunity. Versions have been created with images of patient/service user in a bed, chair, a stretcher and a wheelchair user.

The cleanyourhands campaign is focused on healthcare staff; however there is a patient involvement element to the campaign through the ‘It’s ok to ask’ message.

 

The campaign provides a leaflet aimed at patients, service users and visitors to inform them about the cleanyourhands campaign.

This leaflet can be placed in patient and service user areas, such as waiting rooms or can be placed in patient information folders.

 

The campaign also provides a patient poster which is designed to let patients and service users know that ‘it’s ok to ask’ their healthcare staff about hand hygiene.

A variety of artwork for promotional items are available to help you implement the campaign locally.  These can be used to help promote the campaign at events or more widely across your trust.

 

 


Screensaver

The screensaver can be used within your trust to help promote the campaign and the importance of good hand hygiene to healthcare staff.

 

The screensaver can be downloaded as a zip file, and is available in both English and Welsh.


Floor vinyls

Three designs for floor vinyls have been produced. If you are considering producing these locally, we strongly recommend that you undertake a local risk assessment and consult with your facilities/estates lead prior to production.

Email signatures

T-shirts

Following feedback from coordinators, artwork for t-shirts has been provided.  These can be produced on either black or white t-shirts and are designed to help promote the campaign within your trust.

Stands

Following requests from trusts, we have provided artwork for you to create promotional banner stands for your trust. These can be used at events, or in your entrance foyers to raise awareness of your trust's participation in the campaign.

Bookmark

We have redesigned the current artwork from the bookmark to make it more relevant to community healthcare staff. This can be placed in diaries or filofaxes to act as a reminder for staff. It can also be used as a promotional item at events.

Bag

We have created  a design that can be printed on a standard eco-friendly bag.  These can be used as a promotional item at events, or as an item for community healthcare staff to use.

The cleanyourhands campaign provides a variety of resources to help with trusts local training.

These include videos to help support training, as well as slides and handouts, including hand hygiene techniques and Five Moments diagrams, which can be downloaded below.

 

 


Technique handout/poster

The technique diagram shows the hand hygiene techniques for alcohol handrub and soap and water separately. This double sided handout can be used at training or events or, once laminated, can be used as a poster at hand hygiene facilities to encourage good hand hygiene technique.

Based on the WHO ‘Five moments for hand hygiene’, this poster is designed to help healthcare staff understand the key moments for hand hygiene – ensuring that it is carried out at critical moments.
